Kidtagz Wins Award
as Kids Head to the Park
HOUSTON — June 1, 2004 — Houston-based KidTagz, LLC wins a
prestigious iParenting Media AwardTM for its Child Emergency Shoe Tag. KidTagz is presented with the award just in time for the
summer holidays as children start spending more time at amusement parks, the
zoo, campgrounds, and the mall. KidTagz
Child Emergency Shoe Tags are intuitive, affordable tags that identify a child
or relay important information in the event of an emergency such as a child’s
separation from his or her parents, medical emergencies or allergic reactions.
KidTagz are designed to fit securely on to most
types of children's shoes and are waterproof, durable and lightweight. “The shoe is the most practical location to
place emergency information on a child.
Clothing is changed regularly, and most kids typically do not carry
wallets. Necklaces and bracelets are
easily broken or lost.” says Shaazia Stonehocker, president of KidTagz. “Since
most kids have two or three pairs of shoes that they wear on a regular basis,
parents can put one on each pair, and forget about it. Each time the child wears his shoes, the
parent or guardian’s cell phone number is right there.”
Parents write vital information
such as a cell phone number or medical alert directly on the inside of the tag,
and snap it on their child’s shoelaces, Velcro or sandal strap. KidTagz provide only the information
others need to help a child. Like the
now-popular Medic Alert tag, KidTagz will quickly become the standard
for communicating information about children who cannot speak for themselves.
The iParenting Media Awards
program has revolutionized the awards process for the children’s product
industry. The mission of the program is
to determine the best products in the children and juvenile products
industry. Products are evaluated by a
team of reviewers using a proprietary process incorporating objective standards
of measurements. Three stringent
outside reviews are performed on thousands of products including: a licensed
childcare facility/ school, a product expert, and a parent.
KidTagz are available in bold colorful designs for
boys and girls. They accentuate a child’s wardrobe while at the same time, providing
important information. Currently, KidTagz
has two products in its child safety line including the Toddler Emergency Tag
and the Child Emergency Tag. KidTagz Toddler Shoe Tagz are available in
a 2-pack for a suggested retail price of $2.79-$3.29. KidTagz Child Shoe Tagz are available in a 4-pack for a suggested
retail price of $4.29. Tags are currently sold at retail stores across the
United States and in Canada.
KidTagz, LLC was founded in 2002
by Shaazia Stonehocker, and has been expanding quickly as parents are learning
the importance of child identification.
Kidtagz is a member of the Juvenile Products Manufacturer’s
Association. The company has plans to
release additional innovative safety products in the near future.
