KidTagz Introduces Product to Help Reunite Lost Toddlers with their Parents

HOUSTON — November 12, 2003 — Houston-based KidTagz, LLC recently introduced KidTagz into the child safety product market.   KidTagz are an intuitive, affordable tag that can identify a child or relay important information in the event of an emergency such as a child’s separation from his or her parents, medical emergencies or allergic reactions.

The tag is designed to fit securely onto the laces or straps of children’s shoes.  KidTagz are constructed from waterproof, lightweight plastic and snap tightly around laces and straps.  “The shoe is the most practical location to place emergency information on a toddler.  Clothing is changed regularly.  Toddlers typically do not carry wallets.  Necklaces and bracelets are easily broken or lost.” says Shaazia Stonehocker, president of KidTagz. “Since most toddlers have two or three pairs of shoes that they wear on a regular basis, parents can put one on each pair, and forget about it.  Each time the toddler wears his shoes, the parent or guardian’s cell phone number is right there.”

Parents can write vital information such as a cell phone number or medical alert directly on the inside of the plastic shoe tag, and snap it over the child’s shoelaces, Velcro or sandal strap.  No engraving, no waiting: Just instant peace-of-mind.  KidTagz provide only the information others need to help a child.  Like the now-popular Medic Alert tag, KidTagz will quickly become the standard for communicating information about children who cannot speak for themselves.

KidTagz is especially useful at shopping malls, amusement parks, zoos, and other public places where a child is likely to get lost.  Daycare centers and schools can use the tag for identifying children with allergies and special needs.  Parents with infants can clip a tag on a car seat.  In the case of an emergency, when the parent or parents are unconscious, alternate emergency contact numbers or doctor’s information can be communicated quickly.  KidTagz come in several designs for boys and girls and are intended to accentuate a child’s wardrobe while at the same time, providing important information.  KidTagz are available in a 2-pack for a suggested retail price of $2.79-$3.29, and are currently sold at retail stores in Texas, California, Florida, Arizona, and Hawaii.

KidTagz, LLC was founded in 2002 by Shaazia Stonehocker.  Currently, KidTagz are the company’s sole product.  The company has plans to release additional innovative safety products in the near future.
